Blue Water Shipmasters’ Fund

imageCaptain James C. Acheson in partnership with the International Ship Master’s Association Lodge #2 has established a Blue Water Shipmasters’ Fund through the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. Income from the Fund will provide one $1,000 scholarship annually for a Blue Water resident attending the Deck or Engineering program at either the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City, MI, the Great Lakes International Marine Training Centre, Georgian College in Owen Sounds, Ontario, or the St. Clair County Community College transfer program in Port Huron, MI.

    Applications will be available in January 2011.

    Fund Contributions

    Your donation into this permanently endowed fund qualifies for the Michigan Community Foundation Tax credit on State Income Tax returns.

    Contribution Levels

    • Ship Masters’ Club: Donors contributing $1,000 or more.
    • Captain’s Club: Donors contribution $500 - $999.
    • First Mate’s Club: Donors contribution $100 - $499.
    • General Support: Donors making a general contribution.
    • Gift of stock, real estate or other property: Please contact me to discuss a transfer of assets.
    • Life Gift: Please contact me to discuss a contribution through my estate.
