Hale Walker - Donor Spotlight

Posted on August 1, 2007

imageThe members of the Walker family from St. Clair are hard to miss, and not just because there are so many of them. As seen in this photo, Hale and Anne Walker have a beautiful family of six children, plus a daughter-in-law and a nine month old granddaughter, Keegan Mae Walker.

The Walker’s have been donors to the Community Foundation since 1999. During these last eight years they have given numerous and generous gifts to a variety of endowment funds, including the Wyatt Walker Friendship Fund, the Friends of St. Mary’s School Fund, the Back to School projects, and the Supporters of the East China Schools Fund. With six kids, Hale and Anne are strong believers in education!

And Hale and Anne set an example of philanthropy for their family. Their youngest son, Troy, a senior at St. Clair High School, donates his time to the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council. Dustin, 25 and the oldest, spent time in El Salvador building a community Church. Riley, 22, recently graduated from CMU and spent a spring break working on the south side of Chicago in a half way house. Kellyn, 21 and about to finish her senior year at CMU, has done inter city teaching.

Hale and Anne believe strongly in supporting their community, and the Community Foundation. He is president elect for the St. Clair Rotary, a member of the stewardship commission for St. Mary’s Parish in St. Clair, and is a board member of the Supporters of East China Schools Endowment Fund. Anne spreads her volunteer time between St. Mary’s and St. Clair High School.
