The Community Foundation of St. Clair County has hired Gigi Mericka as the Program Manager for the Kellogg Foundation’s Access to Recreation Program in St. Clair County.

The Program Manager position runs through the life of the project, which is anticipated to conclude during the first quarter of 2009. In her position, Gigi will coordinate several concurrent components of the Access to Recreation project, including a new endowment fund dedicated to accessibility issues, the state’s first public accessible treehouse at the Pine River Nature Center, new kayak and canoe launches at two public parks, and significant improvements to the public pool house in Algonac.
Gigi joins the project from the Blue Water Center for Independent Living, and also provides consulting services to Partners at Heart and the SC4 Foundation. She has extensive experience in nonprofit programs, projects and fund raising.
