Foundation, Partners offer Funds in Port Huron

The Community Foundation, along with the Port Huron DDA and the new Downtown Port Huron organization have joined together to announce a new pool of funding. There are three categories of funding available, each with different criteria and objectives.
A) Nonprofit Organizations—may apply through the Foundation’s normal grant application cycle for up to $16,000 in grants. Priority will be given to projects that address any of the three current strategic priorites of the Foundation….1) community development 2) Education 3) Arts & Culture
B) Business Incentives: Through a continuing partnership with the Port Huron DDA, the Community Renaissance Fund has up to $55,000 available for niche business recruitment and development in the downtown. Interested business owners or entrepreneurs should contact the Blue Water Small Business Concierge at 810-689-8446 for criteria and application details.
C) The new Downtown Port Huron organization is offering mini-grants that range from $500 to $1,000. Applicants must be members of Downtown Port Huron. Eligible projects are: Facade improvements, outdoor and patio seating, and exterior signage. Stop by their Welcome Center or visit their website at www.downtownporthuron.org for more information.
