CHASE Donates $20,000 to Back To School

image CHASE has awarded $20,000 to the Women’s Initiative’s Back to School program.


CHASE’s commitment to helping at-risk kids succeed in school is outstanding,” said Juanita Gittings, Chair of the Back to School program.  “CHASE is now the all-time largest supporter of Back to School with contributions in excess of $33,800.  They have generously supported at-risk kids through the program since 2005.” 

The Foundation’s 2008 goal was to raise $42,900 to cover projected costs.  “CHASE’s donation puts us over the top at $47,000 and ensures that more than 3,300 kids will receive backpacks and school supplies.  All donations received above the initial goal will be used to purchase additional supplies,” said Gittings. 

imageCHASE helps children gain access to high-quality educational opportunities through its corporate philanthropy program.  “CHASE wants to help students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to become productive, engaged citizens,” said Mary Langolf, who manages the Port Huron area branches for CHASE.  “My CHASE colleagues and I are pleased to help students acquire supplies needed to practice school skills and succeed.  It’s one of the many ways Chase makes a positive difference in the community.”
