I attend the BWAC meetings and I’ve noticed a trend to focus on passive tourists attractions. Tourists seek to be entertained. A mural on a building may be pretty or a statue may capture a spirit, but those are passive, incidental elements, and not tourists attractions.

A tourists attraction is something that would cause PH to be a destination. Bruce Brown has the right idea with an extended festival. My favorite attraction would be an on going, out of doors, musical presentation based on the life of Thom Edison. Of course we would need an amphitheater to house it. The “Danial Boon Story” has been going on each summer for how long? - fifty years? How about “Unto These Hills”. You might want to consult the institute of Out Door Drama at Chapel Hill North Carolina to find out how they have staged most of these attractions in the country.
