We are excited to share that The Big Give preliminary results are over $592,000 raised to support St. Clair County nonprofits.
The Big Give, a 24-hour online community giving rally to support local nonprofits, saw thousands of donations from our local community and beyond!
Big Give Fun Facts:
- 9 gifts were received within 2 minutes of midnight
- We had Donors from 23 other states and Canada
- Donors from farthest away- Honolulu, Hawaii
- Over 2,000 gifts received
- Average gift amount was $242
- The last gift received was at 11:56pm
- The most online gifts were received between noon and 1pm
All donations received during The Big Give were eligible for Bonus Pool Funds on a pro rata basis, giving everyone who participated the opportunity to have their donation(s) amplified. In addition, all credit card fees were covered by the generosity of donors, so that all donations go directly to the nonprofits.
The $51,526.29 Bonus Pool that helped amplify everyone’s giving was made possible with generous support from: James C. Acheson Foundation, St. Clair Funds, United Way of St. Clair County, Anonymous Donor, Blue Water Arts Council, Catherine Houghton Fund, Women’s Initiative, Youth Advisory Council. Bill and Linda Forster, Nasr Family Fund, the Norman and Isabel Cosgrove Memorial Fund, David & Denise Brooks, Eastern Michigan Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Northstar Bank, Harlan Blomquist and Semco Energy.
In addition, five generous, hometown businesses that joined the Foundation as promotional partners—A Little Something, Kate’s Downtown, Ruboo Boutique, Spa 223 and the YMCA of the Blue Water Area— are offering perks to everyone who gave online during The Big Give. As a reward for supporting their favorite nonprofits, donors can redeem the perks when they show proof of their donation when shopping at the participating stores.
During The Big Give, a number of nonprofits also hosted special events to celebrate the day of giving like the Port Huron Museum who had an open house and Bridge Builders who hosted festivities to celebrate their donors’ generosity.
The Big Give was so much more than a fundraiser. The nonprofit community rallied around this giving opportunity and supported one another. We are incredibly happy to see such success for all 80+ nonprofits that participated!
Thank you community members who responded so generously during this day of giving!
