Matching Gifts Expand Giving
Posted on May 18, 2011 by Randy Maiers
The response to our matching gifts program this year has been outstanding. Earlier this year we launched the “Charitable Checkbook” program to enhance charitable giving in St. Clair County. This program replaces the Match Day programs we ran in
2009 and 2010.
So far local donors have established 13 new Charitable Checkbook accounts here at the Foundation, with the most recent account established by Talmer Bank & Trust.
These new Charitable Checkbook accounts total over $135,000 including our matching component, and have already granted out $42,000 to local groups such as the Boy Scouts, YMCA and St. Clair Little League.
We have just under $5,000 remaining in matching funds, so if you’re interested in leveraging your charitable gifts this year, call Lynn Alexander in our office.
And speaking of leveraging your gifts, the Kresge Foundation will match your gift dollar-for-dollar between now and the end of August if you donate to our College Access Endowment Fund.
