Annual Dinner inspires

Sometimes it’s too easy to get caught up in the details of our work to the point that we forget to step back and enjoy the view. Even in these challenging economic times, the donors and volunteers of the Community Foundation have kept our staff extremely busy. So last Thursday night was especially enjoyable as we celebrated at the 2011 Annual Dinner of the Community Foundation.
From an inspiring opening by a young man named Jared Land who lives in our Youth Home (Wings), to listening to Geoff and Jenifer Kusch talk about their passion for giving back, to the ceremony honoring Lee Hanson, Dave O’Connor, Fred Moore and Doug Austin…...it was truly a great evening.
I also had the pleasure of informing the audience that since our Foundation was first created in November of 1944, our donors have provided just over $25.5 million back to the community. That number is an incredible testimony to the generosity of the people who live in the Blue Water Region.
As long as our donors and volunteers continue to have the passion for giving back, good things will continue to happen.
